Round Two
posted by Marv 05-06-03

It's been awhile since last post. Poor T-Mac. Every game except game seven was a MVP performance. Chin up T-Mac, you get to go fishing with Chuck and Kenny. Saw the game one's yesterday, and damn, Boston is really surprising, first beating the Pacers and then playing the Nets tough. I'll add more series thoughts later.  >>Boston/NJ  thoughts

Dunk of the first round, or maybe year?

Whatever you think of Kobe, this is the highlight of highlights.

Quote of the Moment, Charles Barkley:

After seeing Ron Artest get his tooth chipped, "See? That's his problem. He shouldn't be playing defense with his teeth." You slay me, Chuck. Oh yeah, his book is a good read, though it's mostly serious. Don't expect too many of the usual comedic quotes, but do expect a few chuckles.

Regular Season Awards handed out

The Dish names its MVP, All-NBA, etc. Other awards to be named later. This is purely my, Marvin, opinion. However, this is my site, so it's The Dish's.

Payton as the best PG

Benny writes another column, making his case for Payton as the NBA's top point. Philly played New Orleans today, and Utah vs. the Kings. Tell you more about it tomorrow.

New Orleans dancing without Monster Mash, Unlikely Phoenix hero

Seems this weekend was full of upsets again. Great playoff basketball. And how about those Suns, huh? Seems as if the only way they're able to win is in dramatic fashion, and they got that game-winning shot, or more specifically jump hook, from the unlikeliest of people, Jake Voskuhl...Lakers win in game four, or more accurately, T-wolves lose...New Orleans should party likes it's Mardi Gra everyday. Maybe they do.  >>Around the League

Lakers Get Punked, NJ lucks out
posted by Marv on 04-24-03

Saw the T-Wolves at Lakers, and yes it hurt yours truly. Lakers played without any real intensity till the real end, which means they got punked by the T-Wolves. >>more...

As for the Mil at NJ game, didn't see most of it. But I did see the play that counted most: Rodney Rogers three to win the game. I guess a few 10 feet make a difference. If you missed it and didn't hear about it except by coming to my page, which is pathetic, then here's what happened. Rogers wasn't boxed out, ball came right back to him, he steps back and hits the three to win it. George Karl bitched about a Kenyon Martin foul which resulted in Rogers free throws in the post-game interviews, which will lead to a fine, but I didn't see anything wrong with it. You get down to the last seconds, and the refs let you play. Shut up, be a man, and take the loss straight up. Listen to Charles Barkley, "It's Anthony Mason's fault for getting pushed out of the way like that."

Didn't catch much of the Celtics game either, but I did see the Pacers getting romped. Jermaine O'Neal should be dunking all his touches right down the Celt's throats. The Celtics also shouldn't be able to attack the middle like they have been, especially since the Pacers have that many more dominating inside men then the Celts. Artest isn't containing Pierce, and there's no way the whole Celt team should have scored the way they did. Pacers are really disappointing me. - respond
